Festival Show

“Look into your mind and discover the essence there.” In October, amid the fall season, we present a variety of Jikji shows that will embody the spirit of Jikji and ensure warmhearted healing for those exhausted with the daily routine.

  • Opening Ceremony & Performance

    Varied performances and the opening ceremony against the backdrop of the Jikji Forest
    The 7th UNESCO/Jikji Memory of the World Prize Ceremony; congratulatory speeches by former prize winners and invited international speakers; a media show featuring lasers, projector beams, and music; fireworks shows; the opening ceremony; and celebration performances
    Celebration of the inauguration of the IAPM, with performances to delight visitors
  • Closing Ceremony & Goryeo Fash

    Overview
    A Goryeo fashion show featuring historically accurate Goryeo-period garments will add charm to the closing ceremony.
    The fashion show will constitute the main part of the ceremony.
    Closing ceremony performances and other performances will also be held.
    The closing of the festival will be declared.
  • Relay Healing Concert

    Well-recognized Korean music bands will hold performances, spicing up Saturday evenings.
  • Media Performances

    Overview
    Starting from the opening day, a media art show expressing the spirit of Jikji will be held every evening at the Jikji Forest.
    Every 6 pm, the ringing of the grand millennium bell will begin to transform the Jikji Forest into a forest of light, creating a light-soaked space to experience the spirit of Jikji.
    A video will feature content depicting the transformation initiated by Jikji and modern technology.
  • Themed Musical Concert

    Overview
    Jikji-themed gugak (traditional Korean music) to heal the soul will be played at the Jikji Forest.
    Tea ceremony meets healing gugak performance: Tea tables will be placed around the stage, allowing the audience to enjoy the music while experiencing a traditional tea ceremony.
  • Busking Performances

    Overview
    Diverse music bands from Cheongju will hold busking sessions around the festival venue.
    These scattered busking performances will invigorate the entire festival through spontaneous performances.
  • Jikji Citizens’ Day

    Chair of the Jikji Korea Organizing Committee and staff members, invited international figures, UNESCO delegation, and city residents/visitors
    Overview
    The Federation of Artistic and Cultural Organization (FACO)’s Cheongju and North Chungcheong branches will host Jikji Citizens’ Day on National Foundation Day and Hangeul Day.
    These two branches will showcase their own performance programs during the event.
  • DJ SHOW

    Overview
    The participants will be allowed to go wild, tossing colored powder at each other while enjoying the DJ Show.
